MY VACATIONS
Although I love my work and college but vacations are nevertheless most welcome. And it couldn’t have been better with exams ending after my first year in college. The best aspect of a vacation is escaping the stereotyped daily routine. So here I was, set to make the most  out of it. These were the days of recreation and rest and ofcourse they were hard earned after a rigorous exam schedule. As they began I was enthused to plan for the days ahead.
The only thing that was on my  mind was how to spend the vacation pleasantly in visiting new places, in reading of literature, spending quality time with my family, catching up on small joys of life with my childhood friends, relishing my mother’s cooking.
While reading through the literature I came across these inspiring  words by Langston Hughes
“Hold fast to dreams for if dreams die, life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly” I held my dream of becoming a thorough industrial professional since my high school although i will not have the oppurtunity to fulfil my desire until I get into a business school, undergoing the internship would have given me a chance to fulfil my dream.
So with the advice of my parents and other family members I won myself an internship at Escorts Construction Equipment Pvt. Lmt. after a short interview with the company’s HR personnel. The company’s location on the outskirts of the city in ballabgarh gave me a chance to enjoy long drives along the lush green fields and admire the beauty of countryside. I went there for 5 days a week and an average of 30 hours, a time well spent.
I had already found what I wanted .Our industrial guide gave us a warm welcome and briefed us about the functioning of production units. One month flew away within no time and I felt more confident and inspired. The valuable experience gained during internship did not only improve but also extended my potential.
I still had 15 days left from my vacations. So I planned a trekking trip to Manali.Manali is a paradise for trekking enthusiasts. The dense forests, lush green meadows, colourful flowers, the emerald blue lake, the cliffs and deep narrow gorges, the musical streams and the picturesque waterfalls were a delight to experience. The ups and downs during trekking made me a bit tired but exploring the virgin Himalayas under the blue sky with magnificient views allowed to to relax like nowhere else and the curiosity to know what lies beyond the next mountain pulled me deeper and deeper into the lap of mighty Himalayas.
Back from the trip, it was time for some pampering by my mother. It’s altogether a different feeling to rest the tired body lying on the couch and watching television while my mother cooked all my favourite dishes. A movie with the family gave a perfect ending to my vacation.
The last day paased by preparing to come to college .But there was a fresh mind body and soul raring to go and touch the skies. With a fresh surge of energy to conquer the world. And as it’s said:
“Too much work, too much vacation, too much of any one thing is unsound.”

So here I am again back to what  I enjoy the most.....my schedule .
