The people in Shimla depend on agriculture as a source of their livelihood. Cattle rearing is yet another way of earning a decent livelihood. The people in Shimla live in small huts with slated roofs. Every unit of village has its own shops and other facilities and necessities. There are regular fairs and festivals in these villages. You will find more information about the culture, music, dance, people and religion of Shimla in our related sections. He also guided me about folks and devotions of people toward god.The style of music and dance in Shimla has not gone through much evolution. People over here still follow the traditional forms of dance & music of Simla. The dance and music of Shimla is basically religion oriented. All festivals are celebrated with traditional music and dance and they are an integral part of any festivity and celebration. The main purpose of indulging in music and dance is to invoke the Gods and seek their blessings. This practice has been prevalent since old days. About people of shimla, The people of Shimla are among the warmest and friendliest people of India. They believe in simple living and are content with whatever they have got in life. The lifestyle of Simla people is very down to earth and uncomplicated. They look for happiness in small things rather than search for materialistic pleasures. They are known to be very hospitable and make their guests feel at home.

The people of Shimla are a mix of various tribes and races. There is no particular caste or creed to which they belong. The people of Shimla are proud of their traditions and are fiercely protective about it. Though the place is modern and commercialized, the people have not changed and you can still see them following their traditions and rituals with much devotion and dedication. The natives of Shimla have been influenced by the Tibetan lifestyle, which is evident in the way they live and dress up.

The main economic activity and source of livelihood of the people of Shimla is agriculture. You will find most of the people working in fields or growing apple trees. Other sources of livelihood include animal husbandry, government services and handicrafts like weaving. The houses are built in an Indo-Tibetan style with slanted roofs and slates.

The houses are built in an Indo-Tibetan style with slanted roofs and slates. The music is dominated with instruments rather than vocals. The main instruments that are used while singing are Flute, Ektara Chimta, Ghariyal, Ghunghroo, etc. Along with these instruments, experienced people sing the traditional songs that are very pleasant to the ears. The major dance forms of Shimla are the Kayang Dance, Bakayang dance, Bnayangchu dance, Jataru Kayang dance, Chohara dance, Shand and Shabu dances and Rasa dance. These dances are exclusive to Shimla and are not practiced anywhere else. After talking to people out there, then went to hotel. Next day,we started travelling for kallu and manalli, which bounds shimla from north side. The elevation range is  Manali at an altitude of 2,050 m (6,726 ft) in the Beas River Valley is a hill station nestled in the mountains of the Indianstate of Himachal Pradesh near the northern end of the Kullu Valley. Many tourists come from different countries and staes to visit shimla. The best part about shimla is the climate  The climate in Manali is predominantly cold during winters, and moderately cool during summers. The temperatures range from 4 °C to 20 °C  over the year. The average temperature during summer is between 04 °C  and15 °C , and between −15 °C  and 05 °C  in the winter. I meet an uncle there,he was living there from 20 years.so, he gave outline about the history of shimla. He said In ancient times, the valley was sparsely populated by nomadic hunters known as 'rakshas'. The next arrivals were the shepherds who arrived from the Kangra Valley and settled to take up agriculture. Some of the earliest inhabitants of the region are the 'naur' or 'nar', which is a caste unique to the Kullu valley. Only a few naur families are known to exist now. A naur family in the village Soyal near Haripur on the west bank of Manali was famous for the vast land they owned and their practice of having 'rakshas' as their labourers. The British introduced apple trees and trout, which were not native to Manali flora and fauna. It is said that when apple trees were first planted the fruits were so plentiful that often branches, unable to bear the weight, would collapse. To this day, apple—along with plum and pear—remains the best source of income for the majority of its inhabitants.Tourism in Manali received a boost after the rise of militancy in Kashmir in the late 1980s. This once quiet village was transformed into a bustling town with many hotels and restaurants. So this was my personal experience to be in shimla for 7 days. On 8th day,we moved out for delhi, the nearest airport was about about 50 km south of Manali  and 10 km south of Kullu town. And was 15km from our hotel. The airport is also known as Kullu-Manali airport and has more than a kilometre long runway. Indian Airlines and some private airlines have regular flights to the airport. On 6th june ,we returned to delhi and the remaining holidays i spend with my cousin brothers and my sister. So thats all about my summer vacations , these are the memorable days of my life, as these were the last summer vacation.
