My summer vacations
The summer holidays are the days of recreation and rest since these days come after hard work.  As the holidays began, I was enthused to plan for the period. I did not have to think much of the examination result.
I was only thinking how to spend the vacation pleasantly, in visiting places and hanging around with friends. The first few days, I mostly slept for 12 to 13 hours as i was quiet tired and didn’t get time to sleep during my second semester exams. One week later i decided to start collecting materials for my term paper which i had to submit when my college reopens. It was quite an interesting task as i visited several garages to see the car parts assembling and got to know new things about cars which i didn’t know earlier. Then i decided to go and stay for 2 weeks with my father and grandparents who lived in Meerut as i haven’t met them for so long due to my busy college life. I had a great time with my father as we used to chill around and talk about different things at night and I even learnt driving from him. I visited the famous BDM sports factory where i saw how bats and leather balls are actually made which was quite fascinating. Then after returning home i went with my friends to splash water park and enjoyed different water rides. After that we all  hanged around in a bar and I drank beer for the first time in my life and trust me ,the feeling after drinking a whole bottle of beer was pretty awesome as it was quite a hallucinating one. There were certain embarrassing moments for all of us as one of my friend ran into a ladies washroom instead of a gents and even vomit on the floor of the bar we were in. Then the next day i went to my Nani’s house with my mother and spent a great time with my relatives and family members. We used to play cards till late at night and have dance sessions.
The next week i went on a nine day trip to Shimla with my friends and also visited chail and kufri. Thanks to this tour operator agent to arrange such a luxurious hotel at a reasonable price. We had stayed one week at Hotel Asia -The Dawn. It was one of the best five-star hotels in Shimla. The hotel food was too tasty, very difficult for me to forget the menu. The traditional Indian food menu was amazing. The hotel had arranged a tour operator who engaged to guide us.

There were many dazzling and wonderful attractive spots to watch like Jakhu Hill, Lord Hanuman temple and local handicraft museum. Jakhu Hill is a mind-blowing hill station. The  next morning we had gone on a trekking trip, really the trip was unforgettable. Apart from trekking we had also enjoyed shopping.

At early morning of seventh day we had visited Tara Devi, according to local believe the Shimla tour remain incomplete if a tourist never visits Goddess Tara Devi temple. The temple distance was only 11km from our hotel. Then we drove on a hired taxi towards the deodar forest of chail and kufri.
We drove via Solan town on the Shimla highway and turned towards Chail at Kandaghat. Initially a vegetation of stout trees and shrubs with a generally dry atmosphere, things started changing as we climbed up towards Chail village. A small village it may be, but not undiscovered by Delhi’s footloose population trying to escape from the summer heat. Resorts and hotels litter the way and giant ad-hoardings welcome you to their properties in Chail. But thankfully, Chail village itself is unspoiled as the region around it has been declared a reserve forest and no construction permitted. An hour of drive took us to the famous hindustan tibet highway and eventually to kufri. This  was the last day of our trip . Kufri’s arrival is marked by horse shit,’ remarked one of my friends as he drove towards it. Sure enough, Kufri is crowded with horses meant to give joyride to tourists and we started seeing them miles before we reached Kufri. In the center of the village stood the horses and many drivers in a manner very similar to auto-rickshaws waiting for passengers in bus stands. Kufri also has a small zoo and an amusement park but none of them are worth the effort. But a walk along Kufri’s road, among the deodars at a height with vistas of the green valleys below makes being there worthwhile.
We returned home at 6 a.m. in the morning and i rested for about 2 days as i was very tired.
The holidays were getting short and college days were about to come ,and now i realised its time to get serious and i get back to studies again. Finally in my last two weeks i gathered the remaining information for my term paper and completed it in 3 days . the rest days i saw about all 6 movies that were released in that month. I also went to visit my old school friends and teachers in my school and just have a nice conversation and time with them. Then days with the last remaining of my holidays i did a ten day course in java programming and just got into the so called formalities of my college, affidavit and all things. The last two days i went with my family to vaishnodevi and it was a great experience for me as i visited the temple first time and all that climbing to the top on steep slopes was so much adventurous and fun. But there i met with an incident which i just thought was my imagination. On returning back from the temple and going down the slopes. There was a poor old lady holding a stick in her hand and requested me to help her escort to the temple as she could barely walk .

I hold her hand and helped her but on our way to temple she asked me to leave her hand and gave me blessings for helping her and asked me to go where my parents were waiting for me. As i went down the slope and turned my back to see the old lady ,there was no one and at that point i was numb and shocked. I told about the incident to my parents and they said it was the divine god in picture of the old lady and she gave her blessings to you and that i was very lucky. I hoped so as i didn’t believe in all of these spiritual things. Well all and all i enjoyed my summer vacations a lot and had a great memory and experience which i could share with my friends and remember the rest of my amazing life.
