PROCEEDINGS OF THE CLASS

The second receptive and expressive communication skills class of 5th semester was held on 14th July 2014. Mr. Praveen Kumar started the first module - Vocabulary. There are mainly two types of vocabulary:
1. Active - It is the one which is regularly used
2. Passive - Passive is that which is not used so often
A person with a good vocabulary is called linguistically skilled.
Exercises such as word chains are very useful to enhance one's vocabulary.
Another topic in this module is - One word substitutions. These are single words which are used to give a description of any thing. for example- actor- is a person who enacts different roles in a movie, documentary etc.
Synonyms and antonyms were also among the topics which were covered in the lecture.
Synonyms are words with identical meaning.
Antonyms are those words with opposite meaning.
Another very important point which was brought in by Praveen sir was that all the blogs will be titled as 'Edusomia ( class or section )'. This implies that our official class blog will be now called 'Edusomia 5MAE5'. Edusomia is education through social media.
The students were also reminded to create accounts on social networks such as Linkedin, hangout etc. Also, the blog managers were told to create authors in the blog so that any student can post anything on the blog without being dependent on the blog managers
