The 5th receptive and expressive communication skills class was held on 23 August 2014. The 2nd module i.e compression skills was continued. The topic which was started was Listening Comprehension.
Listening means giving attention to what is being said by others. There are a few guidelines for proper listening which are as follows -
1. Take notes - This includes chatting, mapping methods.
2. Attention to the speaker.
3. Concentration
4. Focusing to the content
5. Respect the speaker as a person
Two more topics were discussed which are summarizing and paraphrasing. A very small difference lies between the two.
To summarize means to write down our understanding of anything we have read. On the other hand, to paraphrase means to write someone's words in the words known to us.
Every group is required to submit their podcasts.
