My vacations

Summer vacations are probably the happiest period in a student’s life. It lasts for about two months and usually commence from the first week of May every year. The purpose of summer vacations is multifold.
The very first being relaxation. After the two very exhaling semesters (and that too without any mid sem break in amity) these two months feels like heaven in a student’s life. After the even semester majors this period seem to be the best time to spend some time relaxing away with no load of studies what so ever. The second purpose being the time to tide over the unbearable heat of the summer months (specially the hot and humid rainless summers of Delhi).  Summer vacations give us a chance to visit new places and create some memorable experiences and have a hell lot of fun.
My vacations started on 8th may 2013. As my school friends had their colleges still running at it’s peak, during the early days of vacations I spent most of the time sleeping, playing games on my laptop, and watching movies. Some days passed and I was going out of stuffs to do and so I was getting bored. That was the time when my cousins came from Jaipur, they turned out to be vacation-saviours. This was the first time I went out of my house during the vacations. We all had a wonderful time during their long week stay.as they all left all my school friends were done with their exams and so the time to rock the vacations had come. We started making our plans so as where to go. We planned to leave Delhi in late June for Lansdowne  a cantonment town in Pauri Garhwal district in the Indian state of Uttrakhand. As we had loads of time left for our trip in the mean time we decided to party here in Delhi itself. Almost every evening as we all had nothing to do one of my friends took out his car and we drove straight to G.K. There for about an hour or so we used to play badminton in the DDA indoor badminton and squash stadium. After that we usually headed to the nearby market and have fun. Days passed by and we spent our days roaming around Delhi and meeting friends from whom we haven’t met from a long time. As the days passed by and the time for our trip came closer we all were very excited. We started our preparations for our trip when the shocking news of cloud burst in the state of uttrakhand arrived. We all knew that this was the end and hence all our remaining vacations were ruined. The floods and landslides in Uttrakhand has devastated the lives of thousands of people and so have our vacations. As of now very few days were left for our vacations to get over and so we decided to continue partying here in delhi itself. We went out to pubs and lounges. Ate, drank, danced, talked, laughed, enjoyed  and ended the vacations the best possible way it could have.
